Hopefully this is the last snow fall
for this long cold winter.
The sparkling, spring fed, always frigid water…
is now as clear as cut glass,
The water of the river is flowing,
circling in eddies
she runs under
the icy country roads beyond
the sleeping turf farms of West Kingston.
It is quiet on a cold winter day,
even in the full sun of late morning.
The gurgling sounds of the river,
Beaver River, are all I hear.
